Mercusys Router Login

Mercusys router owners can quickly access the web GUI by visiting from a device connected to the router network. 

You can also visit and login using the password. 

Unlike other routers, Mercusys routers don’t have a default username and password. You must set a password while configuring the router.

Later if you forget the password, you must reset your router to reconfigure it.

Connect one of your devices to the router network. You can use an ethernet cable for a desktop or WiFi for your smartphone/laptop. 

After connecting to the network, open a web browser. You can use any modern browser.

It takes you to the login page of your router’s web GUI. Enter the login password and click the button.

Change WiFi Name and Password

Mercusys have dual-band routers. You can modify each network individually. 

After logging in to the GUI, click Wireless from the left sidebar.

You can turn each network on or off using the toggle button beside them. 

Enter a new WiFi name in the Network Name (SSID) for 2.5 GHz / 5 GHz or both networks.

Type the network password in the Password field.

Click Save to update your WiFi name/password.

Your password length must be between 8-63 characters. Unlike other routers, you don’t need to pick an encryption mode.

Mercusys routers use WPA2-PSK/WPA-PSK encryption mode by default, and it’s available by default. 

Enable Guest Network in Mercusys Routers

We love guests, and the first thing guests ask for after arriving is the WiFi password. You can set up a separate network for guests and use a password like MAKEYOURSELFATHOME

After logging in to the GUI, click Advanced from the top menu.

Click 2.4GHz Wireless or 5GHz Wireless from the sidebar. It will expand the network menu.

Select Guest Network

Select Guest Network from the left sidebar.

It’s off by default, so toggle on to activate the network.

Enter the guest network name in the SSID field and the password in the Password field.

Like your regular network, Guest network passwords must also be between 8 to 63 characters. 

You can set an upstream or downstream limit cap, but you may not want your guests to have a limited network. 

Click on the Set Guest Access Time drop-down menu and select Yes to schedule the network.

Choose how you want to schedule the guest network.

Click Save to save changes and enable the guest network. 

Change Admin Password For Mercusys Routers

Before proceeding, you must log in to the router’s web GUI using the process mentioned above in this article. 

If you don’t remember the current login password or forgot it, you must reset your Mercusys router.

Log in to your router’s web GUI and click Advanced from the top menu.

Click System Tools from the left sidebar to expand the menu. 

Click on System Tools

Select Change Login Password from the left sidebar. 

Click on Change login password

Enter your current login password in the Old Password field. 

Type the new password in the New Password field. Re-type the new password in the Confirm New Password field.

Click Save

You must log in using the new password to make further network changes. 

Reset Mercusys Routers

There are two common reasons to reset a router. Either there’s some problem with the router, or you forgot the login credentials. 

You can reset your Mercusys router from the admin panel or using the physical reset button. 

Reset a Mercusys router from the admin panel

  1. Go to and log in using the current login password if you remember it. 
  2. Click Advanced from the top menu. Click Advanced from the top menu
  3. Click System Tools from the left sidebar and select Backup & Restore. Go to Backup and Restore
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Restore button. Click Restore button
  5. Click OK from the pop-up. Click OK from the pop-up

Reset a Mercusys router using the reset button

  1. Power up your Mercusys router.
  2. Find the reset button on the back panel of your router. Reset Mercusys Router
  3. Press and hold the reset button with a paper clip for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Release when the LEDs blink. 

After resetting your router, connect a computer to the router using the LAN cable. 

Open a web browser and visit, and it will ask you to create a new password.

After that, you can modify your network connection and wireless networks.
