Turn on Flashlight on Android in 5 seconds

Gone are the days when we had to install a dedicated Flashlight app because there was no option to enable it from the navigation bar. Now, all Android smartphones have multiple ways of turning on Flashlight.

Turn on Flashlight From the Navigation Bar

It’s the quickest method and is available on all Android devices that use Android 5.0 Lolipop or higher. You can turn it on even if your phone is locked.

Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap on Flashlight.

If you can’t find the Flashlight option in the navigation bar, unlock your phone and open the navigation bar. Tap the Edit icon and add Flashlight to the navigation bar.

Turn on Flashlight using Google Assistant

Google Assistant is a smart voice recognition app launched in 2017 for all Android devices using Android 6 and 7. Since then, it’s been a part of all Android devices.

You may unknowingly set Google Assistant while setting up your device. Press and hold the power button, and the Assistant will appear on your screen.

Say Flashlight, and the Assistant will turn it on. You can also see the prompt to turn it off or use your voice command.

Turn on Flashlight using an App

It’s the old-fashioned way of using Flashlight. The only benefit of using a Flashlight application is minimizing the app, which will turn off the flashlight automatically.

Install the Flashlight application by Splending Apps and open the application. Tap on the menu icon at the top right corner and select Settings.

Select Turn off at exit and go to the app’s homepage. Press the power icon, and it will turn on the Flashlight.

Use Quick Torch on Pixel Device

You don’t need to unlock your device or use the navigation bar to turn on Flashlight on your Pixel device.

All pixel devices have a gesture called Quick Torch. While enabled, you can press and hold the power button while the screen is locked to turn on the flashlight.

You can enable the Quick Torch by navigating to Settings > System > Gestures > Quick Torch.
